Our family built India's first automatic napkin folding machine.
In 1982, Late Shri Pushkar Lal Birla invented India's first automatic paper napkin folding machine — recognised with the Bharat Ratna Visvesvaraya Award in 1986, presented by President Giani Zail Singh. His son Ashwani Birla founded Birla Hi-Tech Machines in 1999 to continue that work. Every napkin machine leaves our Faridabad factory with Siemens automation and an 18-month warranty, longer than the 12 months typical in the Indian market.

What is a paper napkin machine?
A machine that converts jumbo tissue rolls into folded, cut and counted napkins, with optional embossing and printing.
How much does a paper napkin machine cost in India?
Every Birla machine is built to order, so the quote depends on what you need: single or double deck, how many print colors, your napkin size and fold, and embossing. Single deck or double deck — which should I buy?
Single deck if you're starting out or volumes are steady. Double deck when you need more: 800–1,000 napkins a minute against up to 500–550 on a single deck at 30 × 30 cm, from a machine only one foot wider, with the same crew.
What napkin sizes and folds can it make?
Single deck and glue lamination machines make napkins from 22 to 40 cm, double deck machines from 22 to 33 cm, and the 6 Color machine in standard sizes of 22, 24, 33 and 40 cm, or any size from 22 to 40 cm to order. One side is fixed by the machine; the other adjusts with reel width. All four fold 1/4, 1/6 and 1/8.
Do you install the machine and train operators?
Yes. Our own engineers commission every machine on site, in India and abroad, and train your operators on site for 1–2 days — included. Spare parts are stocked in India, with phone and WhatsApp support.
